On Foot

Via Rose Bank Gardens and the 99 Steps

Leave Great Malvern Station, turn right and then left onto Avenue Road.

At the T junction turn left onto Church Street and follow the road uphill until you reach Abbey Road.

Cross over the road to Belle Vue Island and the Malvhina spring.

Cross Belle Vue Terrace at the pelican crossing, turn left and continue past the Mount Pleasant Hotel to Rose Bank Gardens.

Walk uphill to St Ann’s Road via the 99 steps.

Keep following the road until you see the Great Malvern Route to the Hills signpost to the Hills.

At the top of the 99 steps, continue in the same direction and follow the Great Malvern Route to the Hills signpost to the town centre along St Ann’s Road past Carr’s Cottage and Aldwyn Tower to the junction with Happy Valley.

Turn left and continue walk straight up the hill via Happy Valley.

Keep walking past the Donkey Shed and the houses until you reach three bollards.

Continue walking uphill until the tarmac track bends sharply to the left and becomes a rough track.

Follow the track over the stream to St Ann’s Knoll and down to St Ann’s Well (see map).

Via St Ann’s Road and Happy Valley:

Leave Great Malvern Station, turn right and then left onto Avenue Road.

At the T junction turn left onto Church Street and follow the road uphill until the T junction with Worcester Road.

Cross the road at the zebra crossing, turn right then walk up the hill via St Ann’s Road.

Instead of turning left at the top of St Ann’s Road, continue walking straight up the hill via Happy Valley.

Keep walking past the Donkey Shed and the houses until you reach three bollards.

Continue walking uphill until the tarmac track bends sharply to the left.

Follow the track over the stream and you will see a stone waymarker pointing to St Ann’s Well.

Continue along the track to St Ann’s Knoll and down to St Ann’s Well (see map).

By Train

You can catch the train to Great Malvern from London, Birmingham, Worcester, Hereford, Ledbury, Colwall, Bristol and Oxford.

St Ann’s Well is a 30 minute walk from Great Malvern Station.

From Great Malvern Station, walk ½ mile to Great Malvern Town Centre and a further ½ mile to St Ann’s Well (see above for directions).

By Bus

Take the 44, 675 or 676 to Great Malvern then walk ½ mile to St Ann’s Well (see above for directions).

By Car

Great Malvern is approx. 25 minutes’ drive from the M5.

Leave M5 at junction 7, take the A44 exit to Worcester S / Evesham.

At the roundabout, take the 1st exit onto Whittington Road

Slight left towards Crookbarrow Way/A4440

Merge onto Crookbarrow Way/A4440

At the roundabout, take the 2nd exit onto Broomhall Way/A4440

At Ketch Roundabout, take the 2nd exit onto Temeside Way/A4440

Slight left towards Malvern Road/A449

Merge onto Malvern Rd/A449

Keep left to stay on Malvern Road/A449

At the roundabout, take the 2nd exit onto Worcester Road/A449

Follow A449 to Great Malvern.

Please park in one of the car parks in Great Malvern Town Centre or one of the Malvern Hills Trust car parks on the Malvern Hills and walk to St Ann’s Well.

Please note: There is no vehicular access to St Ann’s Well.

Parking

There is no parking available at St Ann’s Well or on St Ann’s Road.

The nearest available car parking is located in Great Malvern Town Centre. You can also park in one of the Malvern Hills Trust’s car parks on the Malvern Hills.
